I was part of the first batch of postgraduate residents appointed to the Department of General Surgery on the clinical side. Since we were the first batch, the initial workload was quite demanding. However, with the addition of junior residents, the workload has become much more manageable. The department provides good hands-on surgical exposure, and the working environment is supportive, with no significant toxicity.
