I have completed my postgraduate training in Family Medicine, an evolving and increasingly important branch of medicine in India. When I first entered this field, I was not fully aware of the immense scope and opportunities that Family Medicine offered, and like many doctors, I had limited exposure to the specialty.

However, during my postgraduate training, I gradually realized the unique value of being a Family Physician. It allowed me as a physician to manage patients holistically rather than focusing on a single organ system, while also emphasizing prevention, early detection, health promotion, and long-term disease management.

I can serve as the first point of contact for individuals and families, managing common acute illnesses, chronic diseases, preventive healthcare, and coordinating specialist care whenever required.

My postgraduate journey helped me appreciate how broad and versatile this specialty is and how it enables me to care for a diverse range of patients.
